Provincial Programs

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are how each Canadian province selects immigrants tailored to its own labour market — often with lower CRS thresholds than the federal Express Entry pool, and dedicated streams for in-demand occupations. If your profile falls short for direct Express Entry but matches a province’s needs, a provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points and effectively guarantees an invitation to apply for PR.

In this section you’ll find guides to the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, the Atlantic Immigration Program (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland), and how to check the status of a PNP application already in progress. Each province runs its programs differently, so the right strategy depends entirely on where you want to settle and what your work history looks like.
